How I Stay Inspired on the Road (And How You Can Too)

It’s funny—people think life on the road is all glamour. And don’t get me wrong, there are moments that feel like something straight out of a movie. The stage lights, the energy of the crowd, the instant adrenaline rush when the band clicks in my song “I’m Waiting For You” . Its fun for sure

But what most people don’t see are the long stretches of highways, the late-night airport delays, or the lonely hotel rooms that can kill your creativity faster than you’d think.

So how do I keep the fire lit? How do I keep showing up, not just for myself, but for every single person in the audience who came to see me bring it? Let me share a few things that help me stay inspired—and who knows, maybe they’ll work for you, too.

1. Tap into the little things

For me, inspiration often comes from small, random moments. It could be the way the sun hits the pavement on an early morning soundcheck or an unexpected conversation with a fan. I remind myself that those moments matter. Whether you’re creating music, writing, or just trying to make it through your day, look for those tiny sparks that remind you why you started in the first place.

2. Switch it up

Routine can be the killer of creativity. When I feel stuck, I change the game. On the road, that might mean exploring a random coffee shop in the city I’m in or even diving into some music I wouldn’t usually listen to. For you, it could mean trying something new—reading, walking, or just stepping away for a moment to clear your head.

3. Keep people close who believe in you

Here’s the thing: you need your people. For me, it’s the fans who send me messages about how my music got them through something, or it’s my team reminding me to trust the process. Whoever those people are in your life, lean on them. Let them remind you that what you’re doing matters, even when it doesn’t always feel like it.

4. Stay curious

You know that phrase, “been there, done that”? Yeah, I hate it. The moment you stop being curious is the moment you stop growing. I’ve learned that if I approach every gig, every city, every note with fresh curiosity, the inspiration takes care of itself.

Life’s a balancing act. And let’s be real—it’s not always smooth. But it’s in the mix of chaos and beauty that the magic happens. Whether you’re chasing a dream, creating something, or just figuring it out as you go, I hope you find those moments that make it all worth it.

Catch you at the next show.
